A thriving arts community makes for a healthy city. We invite writers—and anyone interested in the Philly literary scene—to join us for a workshop, conversation, and meet-and-greet to foster community among the writing and publishing community. "Young Philly Writes" includes an hour of writing time in The Head and The Hand Press's co-working space; a panel discussion with local publishers and authors about the challenges and opportunities presented to Philadelphia-based writers; and a final hour of informal conversation. Speakers include Lillian Dunn, co-founder and co-editor of APIARY Magazine; Nic Esposito, founder of The Head & The Hand Press and author of Kensington Homestead; and Stephanie Feldman, author of the debut novel The Angel of Losses. Come for the entire event, or drop in when you can! Attendees also have the opportunity to tour the vintage printing presses in The Head & The Hand's building.
